Ross Pinkerton was born January 23rd, 1913 in Humboldt County, Iowa to Perry and Isadora (Ruoff) Pinkerton. In 1931 he graduated from Quimby Consolidated Schools. On September 4th, 1960 he married Arlene Bugh in Cherokee, Iowa.
Ross had farmed for many years north of Quimby, and retired in 1989. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Cherokee County Farm Bureau and had been a Willow Township Trustee for 10 years.
Ross passed away on May 14th 2009 at Country Side Estates in Cherokee, Iowa.
Arelene Pinkerton was born August 8th 1919 in Rock Township, Cherokee County, Iowa to Earl & Lulu Bugh. She graduated High School in 1936, attended Nebraska State Teacher's College (now Wayne State College) in Wayne, Nebraska andreceived her Teaching Certificate in August of 1946. In August of 1953 she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado, and in August of 1957 received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota.
Arlene taught school for a few years in the Sioux City Public School System, and also taught school in Marcus, Iowa. She married Ross Pinkerton on September 4th, 1960 in Cherokee Iowa. She retired from teaching at this time and became a homemaker, raising her family. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, a member of Easter Star, and a former 4-H member.
Arlene passed away October 30th, 2009 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
